Glock 22 Conversion to 9mm barrel

    Hey guys,

If any of you guys have converted a Glock 22 to a 9mm, I just got a quick question on which brand of barrel to buy. Or what is a reliable website I can purchase it from.

http://www.glockworld.com/item/43152...rsion_std.aspx - is this a good site? I seen a lonewolf one for for $99 though.

Side question: I just bought a Glock 17 from LC Action by using my GSSF membership card. I just found out that I can change out the barrel of a Glock 22 to fit that of a 9mm!!! I wish I had known about it sooner. I'm still going through my DROS. I'll be able to pick it up this coming Thursday. And if anybody has experience with them, I'm wondering if I can do an exchange for a Glock 22 instead of my Glock 17 and pay the difference, DROS, and whatever. And what processes I would have to go through in order to make that happen.

    Thanks!

I converted my G35 to a 9mm, but it's the same process. I went with a KKM match quality barrel as it's my competition gun. It's been flawless with factory loads but needed a very slight reaming of the throat to handle my competition reloads.
In addition to the barrel and magazines, I recommend you also swap out the extractor and ejector block, both of which are inexpensive and easy to change. You don't /have/ to do that, but you'll most likely experience greater reliability. If you are just using it for plinking at the range, those items probably are not needed, but if you are doing pretty much anything else with it, it's worth the extra parts.

I have no idea about switching the DROS. Chances are that you'd have to pay a restocking fee as well so it's probably not worth it.

If you end up with the G17, you might as well spring for a complete G22 upper from Glockmeister for $340, then all you have to do is swamp uppers and mags(unless you feel the need to swamp ejector blocks as well).

if you going to shoot lead, an aftermarket barrel like lonewolf, kkm or barsto is a justifiable purchase, otherwise just do a complete upper swap to prevent failures.
these come up at glocktalk.com (which has a great no nonsense for sale section) once in awhile.

Might want to find a dedicated upper, it would make switching between the two a lot easier.

I purchased a StormLake conversion barrel and it has been 100% with factory ammo , Wolf/Tula, or reloads. No modifications needed and I did not have to change anything but the mags.

After considering all parts (extractor and ejector + barrel) mentioned. I'd rather wait a bit and buy a new gun for a few extra hundred dollars so I have 2 guns instead of 2 guns in 1.

            Cool thanks for the advice!

With the Lonewolf 40-to-9 conversion barrel, you do not need to change out the extractor or ejector. This is because LW does kind of a sneaky thing in the way they bore out the barrell, and it lines up 9mm rounds with the Glock22 pin, extractor and ejector.

I have one, and it works perfectly with Glock17 magazines. I do mean perfectly, 100%, not a single malfunction of any kind running all sorts of different ammo and having put well over 1500 rounds through it in this configuration.

DAMMIT! Now I'm gonna get one. Only if I'm able to do an exchange of my G17 to the Glock 22. Will call LC Action tomorrow.

Fudge. I'm just gonna have to wait til next year to buy a Glock 22. It'll cost too much to exchange it.
