Until I get a gun safe to put them in!! Do you guys know where to buy a good quality gun safe for a great price? Where are the deals. I am located in modesto. please help me keep my guns safe thanks.

American Security is my fave but most of the time you can get good advice from your local gun show (on display) or a gun store

Liberty Safes in Fresno normally has some specials on scratch and dents, for about $699 and up for a decent size safe, (23gun) often cant see the blem until they point it out, one time there was one where the paint was too think or some thing like that, I couldn't even tell even after they told me what was wrong with it.

Depends totally on your budget. You also have to ask yourself, is this just for guns? Are you going to store Jewelry, important papers, computer disks? How much fire protection do you need?

If you are looking for a fair quality safe, look no further than Costco. Their Big Horn safes offer lots of room for the money, pretty good quality.

For a step up, look at the higher end American Security (AmSec), Liberty, Sturdy.

Keep in mind, none of these are classified "safes". Anything under around $4000 that is big enough to hold rifles, is classified a "Residential Security Container" (RSC). You don't get into real safes until you get to TL-15's and TL-30's, but most RSC's will do a good enough job for most of us (prevents kids and crackheads from a crime of opportunity).

Lots to learn, lots of stuff on the internet to read. Just google "best gun safe", and start reading.

I eventually chose AmSec, delivered and installed for a darn good price. Shop around, prices vary wildly.

Try tractor supply in Ripon or Oakdale. They have good sales, my dad picked up a winchester on sale for $550 a month or so ago.

For SoCal, West Coast Safes prices include delivery and install (with some limitations). They were great people to work with, and carry many brands.

Costco. 52 gun safe from big horn. Great customer service. Delivery includes uncrate and place in garage. Had mine for over a year no problems what so ever.

I live in a small place so that was a factor along with price. I got mine from lowe's who have good prices for what the safe's are. Granted a thief breaks in here, it'll take him less time to smash my safe than a 1500 dollar one, but it does it's job.

Looking for a good size safe for about a $1000 bucks might go over that price for quality. Dont know whats a good brand or what to look for in a safe. I just want to keep kids and burgs out and Stuff safe inside. If you guys know whats a good deal or where to look let me know please. thanks for the help so far!
