Any real diff. between a 1yr or 10yr old USP?

If both had never been fired other than the factory, is there any difference between an H&K USP from 2010 or 2000? Are they the exact same gun or have changes been made under the cover that I don't know about? Thanks!

The only difference I know of off hand is the change to polygonal rifling after the first year or two of the USP. I have an older one and haven't noticed the difference.

I had a 1993 model KD and there were a few differences. Like Heiko mentioned about 2 years after wards H&K changed to polygonal rifling. At that same time they also changed the recoil spring to be captive on the guiderod. That makes cleaning a little easier without springs going sproing.

This is from the hkpro forums:

        1993: Original USP9 and .40.

1994: Reduced the slide weight by 1.1 oz.

1994-95: Change to a polygonal rifled barrel (Prior barrels were standard land and groove)

        1994-95: Change trigger transfer bar.

1994-95: Change recoil guide rod to a "captured spring version".

        1995: Change trigger mechanism.

1995-96: Add rubber spur to hammer.

1995-96: Change angle on slide lock.

2000: Add locking feature to hammer strut support.

2001: Converted captive recoil spring retainer from c-clip to machined end on USP Compacts.

          To add to the list:

          2005: Updated firing pin.
