    Glock 19 interchangeable barrels?

I've decided that I'm going to get either a Glock 17 or 19. What I was wondering is, other than the overall size, what are the difference between the two? I'd really like to be able to use interchangeable barrels (.40S&W, .357 Sig, etc.), will they only fit the 17 or will they fit the 19 as well?

Please let me know if there are any other significant differences. And I'm looking for that Glock discount group, what is the name of that again?

    Thanks.

You can't put a 40 barrel into a 9mm glock. You can put a 9mm barrel in a 40 glock, but not the other way around.

If you want to use a .40 or a .357 Sig on a Glock 17 or 19, you will have to swap out the entire upper receiver. I don't believe you can use a Glock 17 or 34 Slide on a 19 lower receiver or vise versa.

The G17/G22 frame is the same and swapping uppers is only longer, not shorter, they will not work on a G19/G23 as the lock up is different. You can put a G34/G35/G17L/G24 on a G17/G22. You can not put a a 40S&W/357SIG in a 9mm upper, the outside diameter of the barrel is .022" larger.

Great, thanks for the help, that makes sense. So if I want a .357 sig barrel I should buy a G32 and then I can get a 9mm barrel for it?

357SIG and 40S&W are compatible and you can add a 9mm conversion barrel.

So the OP should be considering a Glock 22/23?

The G22 would give the OP the most caliber/barrel and slide options.

                    I like the size/feel of Compact so it'd be a G19, G23, or G32.

If I understand this correctly with a:
G19 (9mm) it only fits a 9mm barrel (or 22lr, but not talking about that)
                    G23 (40S&W) I can put in a 9mm and a .357 sig barrel into it.
                    with a:
                    G32 (357 Sig) I can put in only a 9mm barrel?

Is that correct? Is there any disadvantage to putting a 9mm barrel in a 357? Is it less accurate/more likely to malfunction etc.?

40S&W and 357SIG barrels are interchangeable and so are the magazines. There should be no difference in accuracy with a 9mm conversion barrel in either a G23 or G32. You will need 9mm mags, and may have to replace the extractor and ejector for 100% reliability. Don't do conversion barrels on carry guns.

OP should consider the G29 - 10mm plus 40s&w, 357sig, and 9mm through conversion barrels.

OP should consider the G29, yes for barrel swaps. But the G17/G22 still has the most swap and upper options.

Ok, so, say u get a gen2 glock 22, will it support all of those before mentioned slide options from all generations, or is it gen specific

And, what options are lost with a 23

Gen 1-3 slides are compatible with Gen 1-3 frames.

Gen4 Slides are not compatible with Gen 1-3 frames.
