DesertGunner, yes, it is kind of confusing and JR kind of assumes you know the interchangeability. The G17/G22 is the same frame and every top end longer than that will fit, ie, G34/G35 and G17L/G24. There are conversion barrels for the 40S&W to run 9mm because the outside diameter of the 40S&W is about .022" larger. You can run .357SIG and 40S&W as they are the same.

You will need to remove the small parts from your G17 slide or order new ones: extractor, spring plunger, sleeve, striker, cups and spring, safety plunger thingy and spring, all that stuff, oh yea, and sights. I recommend Dawson Fiber Optic front and Heine rear.

Can you point me to the product page? I was just looking through the LWD site and was thoroughly confused about which parts I needed for a 34 upper. I couldn't seem to find a complete package, and no 17-34 conversion was listed.

The G34 barrel fits right in a G17 with the G17 upper. I have that set-up on my G17, the G34 barrel sticks out 5/6"

If you have to work harder and smarter to get them, wouldn't that be a sign of a shortage?

I'm not saying that can't be had, but in the last couple months I've seen far fewer on shelves. My understanding is that there was a rush on them following the AZ thing, and that Gen4 production is getting top billing at the moment.

Shortage = price goes up. Prices haven't gone up.

I was at the store yesterday to purchase another M&P9 and at that time, they had a new shipment of 30 lc9 in. I was like.... da heo with it,,, Let's DROs 2 guns at the same time. The trigger is long but very sweet.
