Holy s***. You're scaring me with that, I just transfered my dad's Python to my name. How did that happen?

Just shooting it and that piece of the hammer randomly broke off. It flung back and hit me right in the glasses like a bat out of hell. At the time I didn't put any thought into it. Just said to myself, wow that casing really shot out of there and just kept shooting. It wasn't till about 5 minutes later I realized, why the hell did anything fly out/off of my revolver.

That sucks but just be glad it was not something more serious.

It flung back and hit me right in the glasses like a bat out of hell.
One more reason to wear shooting glasses for those who don't.

I've seen the hammer alone priced at 45$, just haven't found someone with it in stock. So looks like I have to go with getting the whole hammer assembly, which I've seen for 85$. Still looking though.

And never opened up a revolver before, so still undecided if I want to do it myself or not. Knowing me and how tight I am with my money though I better start watching some how to youtube videos.

Never seen a empty case fly out of a wheel gun! If your gun is a Python take it to a gunsmith who know about Colts. Using the proper sized hollow ground screwdrivers Colt side plates are not that hard to get off with a soft faced hammer.

The acquisition of replacement parts is the easy part. Where it gets difficult is the hand fitting of the replacement parts. Colts aren't that difficult to take apart if YOU know what your doing and have the PROPER tools to do the job.

Thats pretty funny about the MIM.

Stuff happens to things that explode or house controlled explosions. FYI to the noobes,(not talkin to the OP, or anyone in specific) guns brake you fix them and drive on.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

Damn hi-capacity assault revolver magazine causing erratic brass discharge. Yep, seen that before.

So, oh well, no biggee I'll just keep on shooting...
