    Kimber Backorder

    Hi All.
I've had a Kimber Target II Stainless 10mm on backorder through Able's Ammo for 7-1/2 months. I was wondering if this sort of wait is typical for Kimber. Does anyone know if Kimber is experiencing some manufacturing difficulties or something else that would create a lengthly order delay. I heard they ran a limited edition 10mm, the GT10, with orders placed in October and they are being filled in February. Maybe it is Model related. I ordered the 10mm in July of last year.
    Thanks,
    Roger
P.S. This is a second posting. Per suggestion I've repostd this query into a more appropriate Forum. Thanks.

Search elsewhere, like through forums, classified gun ads (like CTD guns), and gunbroker. If you search long and hard enough, you're sure to find what you're looking for. I wouldn't wait to rely on a backorder unless I had no other options.

Perhaps some of the people who bought it before you did might be re-selling it somewhere.

Went to turners in orange yesterday, they had like 10 + kimbers on display forsale (probably not 10mm but i didnt look in detail) Best bet is to call kimber and see if they can give u info or a vendor who they may shipped that model too, or call around to big retailers

Kimber is really slammed and hasn't shipped to my local dealer for the last 4 months. This is coming from a huge independent FFL that is part of a big buying group. I was in there Saturday, and asked when the next shipment was, the replied "We wish we knew that too!" Don't expect anything soon. Look elsewhere.

I put down a deposit on a Kimber Eclipse Custom II 10mm 14 months ago at a local gunshop. After calling Kimber on my own ( periodic check-up phone calls ) as well as the store owner calling himself to check on production of this pistol we both came up with a "don't know when" this pistol would be produced. I found one (stumbled on to it ) in another store and so I asked the orginal store owner to give me a store credit and he did. I bought the 10mm pistol from the other store. Real happy with it BTW.

Kimber only runs the 10mm line like once a year I was told by a dealer. How true it is ,who knows.

seems like if a kimber dealer doesnt have the kimber u want in stock u will have to wait at least 4+ months. a buddy of mines has been waiting forover 7 months when the dealer said it was gonna take 4. so far everywhere around here is saying the same about the 4 month wait

I have heard the same thing about, However I see many of the 9mm & 45 for sale in shops all over Northern California. Congrats on finding one locally

Combine the wait for a 10mm Kimber and problems finding ammo.... You must be patient!!!

Makes me even happier I found my SS UC from a private party for such a good deal... First day out with it is tomorrow
