Anyone owns SP-01 Tactical (Decocker model) ?

I know it's not on CA roster, but I've heard a few folks have 'em.

I checked with Impact Guns, and they said they sell the 10 rounder model to CA all the time.

I've also read that some FFL dealers record it like regular SP-01...

    ANY Truth to this?

    Thanks!

They're not on the roster, as you mentioned. The FFLs DROSing as SP-01s instead of SP-01 Tacticals are not operating within the law.

So, how were you able to buy one?

Would it be considered an "illegal" gun, if one were able to acquire it somehow?

It's crazy how they make a gun off Ca roster, cuz it has a decocker. While CZ P-01 and 75 BD are both decockers, AND Legal

I have one, I got mine while in Texas. They are not illegal to own as long as you register them when you bring them into the state. It is a great gun.

CZ only submitted the standard SP01 for the CA. testing and approval for sale in the state. I agree it is stupid and a pain in the rear. But it cost weapon manufactures allot of money to submit their weapons for testing, so not all models are sent sometimes. It really is just another CA. fee aka tax against the weapon manufactures. I was able to buy a new one as I am exempt from the list. As long as you DROS it, it is not illegal for you to own.

what makes the drop testing worse is that its done out of state, so the tests dont even benefit a california company or create california jobs. Well im sure there is a clerk somewhere in california that has to update the list.
