    .357 Colt Python Cylinder movement

    6" .357 Colt Python.

Does anyone know if a slight cylinder movement is normal?? (just slides back and forth between the barrel and the hammer only. I have not noticed any other movement)

It moves a little more when its open than locked.

    Thanks

So in your opinion it's not normal? There should be no play in the cylinder at all?

Without having the gun in my hands and you have offered no measurements of the cylinder to barrel gap. Most logical first thing to check. "Occam's Razor"

There are several things you can check....

            Follow this link:

Some movement is normal. Most critical is how tight the cylinder locks up with the TRIGGER pulled back. (no ammo please)

There is very little movement when the hammer is pulled back. I can't see it move but I can feel it.
