Gen 4 Glocks

I know this has been discussed before, and I can't remember what the outcome was. I was talking to a guy who had a Gen 4 Glock 17 for sale. He said he ordered it from an internet vendor, it was received by his FFL and DROS's to him. He isn't a LEO and they didn't do a single shot conversion deal. So my question is, the roster doesn't say Glock Gen 1, 2, etc, it just says the make, model, and size. Why couldn't all Glocks just be DROS'd under the items listed. Did the FFL do something wrong?
