You must acquire an unapproved handgun FTF. The barrel should be removed from the pistol and/or the barrel should have the threads removed prior to the transaction.

It's basically a regular ol' USP with a match trigger, an o-ring on the barrel, and a threaded barrel. Just get a USP and have a match trigger installed and it's basically the same thing.

Or better yet, get a USP Expert.

I have a couple of these Tacticals and I have procured an aftermarket barrel for those.
        Thanks, Ernie

Ok, so basically I gain nothing in the tactical model as I could pick up a new one for around $700ish and drop in a $75 match trigger?

Lucky I came here first before purchasing...

Not entirely true. The o-ring would not be a part of the USPf with the match trigger added. The USP Expert would be the closest thing, but it's an enclosed slide. HK is not a company for gimmicks, so I'm betting the o-ring makes a difference on how consistent the slide lock-up is.

That and your gun would say "Tactical," which we all know makes you shoot better.

I've asked before and got different answers, since from what I have read, the frame of the tactical, expert and fullsize are the same, wouldn't I be able to replace my slide on my fullsize to the slide of the expert?

There is no empirical evidence to prove that the o-ring improves lock-up. That said, I highly doubt anyone here can tell the difference in accuracy between the two guns.

Yes, but I can equally say there's no empirical evidence it does not improve accuracy. My statement was that it doesn't seem likely HK would include something that doesn't help. They're the least "gimmicky" company I've seen. Their innovations are generally genuine -- look at the list of what they've invented.

I do completely agree with that last sentence. However, I do shoot much better with my USP Expert 45 than I do with my USPf 45. That includes all of the differences (the trigger, o-ring, weight and barrel length), though.
