+1 on the LB PII 1/2". You can even get it made to the way you want with the money let over.
Springfield PRO would a be a great option too.Comment

I'd buy a mil spec or gi model springfield and then take it to a great gunsmith and have a gun built. All the features you want and then it's yours.
If this weren't California I'd say get a Rock River frame and slide. Oh well we can dream.
If you want a Wilson CQB compact let me know.I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.
When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.Comment

Baer TRS for $1600 and you have $$$ to add a few touches if needed like a better finish and the rest on ammo =)My opinions are my own and do not represent the position of other companies I may be involved with.Comment

Off The Shelf Premium 1911's
I really like the 1911's churned out by the Springfield Custom Shop and Les Baer. At that price point they would be the FBI spec SA Professional Model and Les Baer's version of the FBI spec 1911 the SRP. There are more basic less costly alternatives like the SA Custom Carry or Baer's own Custom Carry model or the TRS. Essentially they're the same guns with less frills and no wonder finish. These less costly guns are a great value and you can always send it back to be further customized your way.
Other good choices are the NHC Talon or Brown Special Forces models. Although I much prefer Nighthawk's 10-8 pistol and Brown's Executive Elite but they aren't CA approved.Last edited by ianS; 07-25-2007, 10:10 AM.Comment
