    Pistol cleaning kit?

What is the best pistol cleaning kit? What do I need to get besides the kit?

For cleaning Sig Sauer Sp2022 .40

After buying some kits I realized in the beginning I bought that stuff mostly because I thought it was needed and cool. Now I regret spending wasted money on stuff I never used. Since this is my opinion I would say get an inexpensive one for 20 bucks or less and it should come with all you need.

Others may have a different take on it and I'm always interested in what the pros use, so come on guys chime in!

(as far as besides the kit...not sure, good question!?!)

Maybe, a carpeted mat or something you can protect your table/whatever from getting any type of residue or chemical on.

Boresnake, cleaning patches/rags, toothbrush, MPro7 or other cleaning solvent and oil. That's all you basically really need.

        This.

Don't over think it. A few basic items, some of which you can find around your home (rags, toothbrush) are sufficient for almost any cleaning job. I have a huge tool box full of cleaning supplies collected over many years. I only use maybe 1% of what's in there.

I like the otis kits. That, and some weaponshield.

lots of my gun cleaning "equipment" is stuff not made for gun cleaning; necessity is the mother of invention.

Is this the right kit for my Sp2022 .40?

And is this the right boresnake?

Sorry for the noob question. The Sig Sp2022 is my first pistol and it picking it up on weds the coming week and would like to have my cleaning kit before I pick up the gun so I can clean it right after the range.

If these 2 are the right product then I'm gonna but them right now, I have amazon prime so I will get these in before weds. From reading all the post I think that kit and the boresnake will probably be all i need for cleaning the pistol.

If it's not too late, take a look at this. I use one of these on a p220, and it's compact enough to fit in the Sig case:

                    Tire kickers gonna kick,
                    Nose pickers gonna pick
I and others know the real

Not too late, I have until tonight to order if I want it by Tuseday or Wednesday. That seems pretty cool but it doesn't come with any oil (lube) and it cost a little bit more and plus its not shipped from amazon so i don't get the amazon prime 2day free shipping.

Thank you for looking it up thought.

but it doesn't come with any oil (lube)
You shouldn't be using oil on a sig-grease is the lube to use.... And you will be buying cleaning solvent anyway, if you use and clean your pistol regularly

Excuse my newbie lingo, hehe...I know not to use any oil, I really meant the oil, grease, or lube that the cleaning kit comes with. I do know that my sig will come with a bottle of lub or oil, what ever it is but I will be using that.

Doesn't matter if the kit doesn't come with solvent or not. Use whatever cleaner you want. I've even used simple green to clean my guns when I ran out.
