    Best 9mm 1911

In your humble opinion, who makes the best full-size 9mm 1911, preferably with decent sights, for under $1000' (rostered or not?)

I want to find out as well. I was looking to buy a 9mm for HD/comp, M&p9 with all the trigger tweaks, which will eventually come near the cost of a 9mm 1911. I might as well get the 1911, factory fitted and tested.

    I am guessing STI?

There isn't a whole lot of choices under $1000. The SA Loaded 1911 9mm is a good choice so is the STI Spartan. S&W makes the 1911 Pro Series in 9mm which ia a great gun but they cost over $1200. Kimber used to make the Aegis but those cost a premium as well. SA aslo makes the EMP but it isnt fullsize government model.

After looking at all the options, I chose the RIA 1911 GI in 9mm. I love the look of the GI model but can also upgrade only what I need. The Tactical is another great choice if you are not planning on doing too much customization.

I am in 10 day wait for my SA Loaded 1911 9mm

On the list - its PI9134LP

That one has adjustable sights, the 9130 has fixed sights.
In CA should be able to get it new for about $870-890,
            (plus DROS and taxes)
and buying it from "Buds Guns" or other should be do-able to
            ship to your FFL

SA Loaded 9mm or STI, though I'd be all over a used Dan Wesson.

Was looking hard at the STI Trojan 9mm myself. Around $1,100, IIRC.

We have two Springfield Loaded "Target" 9mm's in the family. We shoot them in IDPA. We have shot at least 6000 rounds through them and they have run FLAWLESSLY. (The reason I know it's about 6000 rounds is that I'm on my second box MG bullets. It's about 1/2 gone.) It's my favorite 1911 by far.

I like the cut of the jib on the SA Loaded, but I read a nasty review. Hopefully the local range/shop has one I can check out.

Is that springfield the only one on the roster?

I looked around and it seems the Springfield loaded in 9mm is out of stock at most vendors online, anyone know of a dealer that has it in stock or can order it? Or alternatively, a website that sells it for a decent price? Thanks

Sig is making a 9mm 1911 (without the sig style slide) you might want to look into that. I think its coming out sometime this year.
