I searched, but the only threads I found were about C&R status. Anyone have a CZ-82 yet? If so, what do you think about it? Is it worth picking one up?

Anyone have a CZ-82? Your thoughts?

I own a CZ-83, which is basically the same gun -- and it's a very good gun. Very accurate (barrel is fixed to frame) and must have put a gadjillion .380 rounds through it. The finish won't stand up forever, but hell if you're buyin C&R that's not an issue anyway.
And if you're a southpaw like myself, the ambi frame safety is a nice bonus.

I finally shot mine last week and I liked it a lot. Nice trigger, double or single. I had 2 FTFs out of 100 rounds but that may have been due to the mags. I need to shoot more to figure out if it's the mags or not. It's also pretty accurate and the recoil is not punishing. Nice fairly ergonomic controls for a milsurp. Much more comfortable than my Bulgarian Makarov.
I need more Makarov ammo....

Yeah, I finally got the magazine situation squared away. That was a long story in itself. Needless to say I picked up the last 2 Cz mags in stock at Midway and got the "dealer discount" to boot. I think it knocked around $9 off the price. They might have more by now.
Oh yeah, after I bought mine my FFL decided that he wanted a couple too. I guess I should be flattered.
All in all a fun little gun to shoot!:oji:Comment

Pictures, we want pictures.
Sweet, sweet CZ lovin'.
I had a chance to fire a fellow's CZ-52 out at Chabot, we swapped (he fired my 75 BD), that 52 was one of the harshest firing weapons I've played with (nasty little recoil and the grip is really uncomfortable). I'd really be interested in firing a 82/83 if anyone up around me wants to meet at a range.

J & G Sales has a 'California Special' with 9 or 10 round magazines but they charge more for it. I looked at the CZ-82 the last time I was there and while they appeared fine, I didn't buy one. I didn't want to add another 9 something to my ammo list. (the .380 model is just too big)People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

No, it doesn't matter for bringing into CA. I just don't like CAI's ugly billboard stamp!
