Preparing a place for my HD tool.

Just searched 33 pages of Calguns. Nothing much I can use so please help me out.

Just bought a mini vault 2000. It runs on batteries and dc plug.
Those who have something similar, where did you mount yours? (floor, closet, drawer, night stand)

Besides gun, mags, & flashlight, what else is good to keep in there for HD?
Can I see some picks so I can get an idea?

Biggest issues...curious kids, tripping on it in the middle of the night, visible to thieves...

I don't have the same safe as you do, however it is roughly the same size. I keep it in the deeper larger drawer of my nightstand. Unlike yours, my safe opens vertically i.e. the roof lid opens up as oppose to your "door".

So my arrangement may or may not work for you as it may be awkward to get to your firearm quickly due to angle constraints depending on your nightstand.

I keep my safe utterly consistent. Same condition, placement, direction, of everything inside. I would strongly suggest the same, if you need to get to your firearm in a hurry, you dont want to have to think where it is, if its loaded, efficiency of motion should be a top priority.

As to what you keep in, youd have to figure what it best for you. I think gun and flashlight are perfect starters and go from there to see if things start getting "cluttered"

Oh one more thing if you do keep it loaded at all times I like to switch out magazines every few months or so with one that has been unloaded for the same duration. (great thing about 1911s never have a shortage of mags). Sorry for the long post. Dont have a camera to post a picture, but Ill see what I can do.
