Taurus PT 1911

I am have been casually browsing 1911's in the last few days and I have seen a few very tastfully done Taurus Pt 1911's. My question is is this worth the price for a plinker and just all around sexy gun? I would not use it for HD nor CCW so pretty much just a show off/ plinkin gun. I have obviously heard everyones reviews on Taurus firearms, but Ihave also heard that is all out the door with this particular model? So does anyone own one and care to share about it?

I saw one at $550 blued in Dec 2010 PPT. I was tempted.

That model, the alloy/steel taurus 1911's, and 92's, I've heard good things about and the tracker series revolvers up to the raging bulls for revolvers I've heard good things about as well. Really anything else made by them it seems like its not as great QC wise.
