I found out what's causing my bullets to dent and scratch.

When I have the mag in and I rack back the slide..it hops in the extractor when I slowly put the slide forward the nose of the bullet goes into the chamber but its kind of off causing the bullet to hit the beginning of the chamber at an angle...and with force causes the bullet to dent and scratch

Is that normal?? I barely got my p95 Monday and have not shot it yet

Sounds like all auto loaders. They all do that to a certain degree. it's fine as long as it doesn't jam, cause fliers or blow up on you.

I also noticed when my mag is empty and I hit the release...it kinda springs out.

I loaded a full mag in and I had to literally pull it out..like it was stuck.

I field stripped..couldn't find anything..but now it springs out again.

But a full mag is hard to get it in there.

All normal, especially if you're using hollowpoints, or any bullet that doesn't have a rounded ogive.

A full mag is a bit stiff to load into a pistol with the slide closed because the round at the top of the magazine is pushing up against the slide, and if your magazine is a 10 round blocked one, you'll probably have minimal play, so it will feel stiff.

Empty mag will almost always spring out, as the slide release is pushing against the magazine follower. When the slide is locked back, the slide lock is in its upward position, so it doesn't apply downward pressure on the follower, so it won't spring out if you drop the mag with the slide locked open. You just have to observe these things, and think about how it all works, or why things happen. Don't assume your gun is broken, chances are it isn't..

thanks..I know I'm just driving myself crazy..however this does concern me.

When I pop in my mag the rim of the bullet hits this metal piece..making me use force or wiggle the mag in..it also causes chipping to my bullets..here's some pics

1 thing i will tell you is everytime you chamber a round you're pushing the bullet back a bit, other then that everything sounds fine. this is why you tap a mag in after loading it, just to make sure it seated correctly........


Get that thing to the range already i own a P95 and love it.

No, you will not cause the primer to strike by catching the rim.

You won't ignite a centerfire round by striking the rim like that, but it does actually seem like a problem to me. If the rim of the case is catching on a lip inside the frame of the gun, I would contact Ruger and ask for their advice. Magazine insertion should be hiccup free.
