You might find these opinions to be interesting
Revolvers are not pistols
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel

I follow your logic, but none of those other calibers come in sub-compact handguns.Dom

I have a few reasons for 9mm over .380 ACP.
1. Cost, If you can find it, it can cost more than .45 ACP.
2. Availability, I don't always see it on the Walmart shelves.
3. Reloadability, .380 brass is harder to come by and cost much more than 9mm. 9mm brass is relatively common and most people never pick it up.
4. Bowling pin matches, I have had a friend that was shooting at the bowling pins at 50 feet. They kind of just wiggled a bit and then laughed at her.
5. Recoil, some of the .380 guns just feel brutal when you fire them.
If I were going to CCW, I would have something a bit more substantial like a Sig P228 or a CZ P01.Originally posted by BumslieHK - the best 600 dollar gun, 900 dollars can buy.Originally posted by SleighterGetting legal advice from a gun salesman, is like getting medical advice from a janitor at a hospital. I have two .380's for pocket carry, and I have a PM9 and M&P40C for carry, but the .380's will disappear in a front pocket, the others will not, so even though a 9MM or a .40 is a preferred round, a .380 is better than the bigger gun you left at home.Certainly the 9mm packs a bigger punch than the .380 but, also the Kahr is available with a 7 round mag in addition to the 6 rounder whereas the LCP can only be fitted with a 6 round mag. I really like both of these pocket pistols. Actually, I carry the LCP more often than the Kahr.
There are 10 rd mags and more available for the LCP.
Has any one seen the one with the little extension? is it a Pro Mag? I wouldn't mind being able to put a full grip on the LCP.

So would i, but the question is not what you want overall but in a super small mouse gun. Those two don't qualify. Just trying to keep it on topic. Not that your points are bad.If I were going to CCW, I would have something a bit more substantial like a Sig P228 or a CZ P01.NRA Member and Pistol Instructor, CGN/CGF supporter and CRPA Member. A .380 is less likely to expand than a 9mm, and if it does, it won't penetrate as far. So for self-defense purposes, that's a minus. I suspect you'll also find more ammunition options for the 9mm vs the .380.
I would carry a .380 as a BUG, but be aware of its limitations.--Patch
