I'd like to buy the Walther if it's still for sale.

Unless I read that wrong, he's looking to buy that Walther.

Used ones in good shape usually sell for $500+ on gunbroker. I've seen them go as cheap as $400 with some holster wear. An unfired one isn't something I've often see pop up but I'd guess a lot will have to do with model and date of manufacture. The folks on http://waltherforums.com/ are really good at assessing the value of these.

There seems to be increased "value" put on those made in German vs the others. I guess it shows in the workmanship. Gun Broker gives them a bump of about $100/$200 I think for German builds. Since they still make the gun and it sales for around $600 the "unfired" NIB only really matters if you intend to leave it that way and its really old? I'd say if it was really old, NIB, and all that probably $750....but then it depends on who's buying and who's selling - all of the time.

I agree 100 % - the one i was looking to purchase was a consigment @ a gun store selling for $600 + tax + dros = 700.00. In short... I passed. I my mind I felt the gun was worth $500 + dros. For someone else perhaps 700 would of been a great deal.

The Walther enthusiasts want no part of the S&W models currently being made. It's German or nothing, and I'd bet every member on that forum would say for an extra $100, it's a no-brainer. Supposedly, the lemon factor is much higher on the US made PP series guns. They are a sexy gun and more fun to shoot than they look like they would be. Some people report slide bite from PPKs but it's never been a factor for me.

I have "fat" hands so I do remember geting a "bite" about 20 years ago when I had an opportunity to shoot one. From what I remember it was real fun to shoot it. I kinda regret not buying it but I am sure another will show up in my collection before too long.
