My dad just dug his 92F Compact out of the closet and asked me to clean it for him, and I'm worried about the locking block breaking because I think it's a gen 1 and never been replaced. Are any of the 92F Compact parts interchangeable with the full sized 92F? Any answers are appreciated, thanks.

The compacts run a shorter recoil guide spring.
The locking block is the same for all the 92 series. If you are going to change it to a newversion, get the kit that includes all three parts (locking block,retaining pin and plunger) at Brownells.
The hammer spring may also be smaller depending on the version (8 shot or 13 shot). Brownells has parts diagram that will help
