keep one loaded and use two for practice and load them up after to back up your HD one.
having 25 rounds of bonded subsonic 9mm at the ready is plenty enough imho.

plus it's good to practice speed reloads while at the range.

I've always considered 5 mags to be the bare minimum for a primary defensive handgun. One in the gun, two reloads, two unloaded spares. I'm inclined to actually think in terms of 10 mags per defensive handgun, with up to 7 unloaded spares. More mags is always better, depending on your pocketbook. Gives you more options if a mag is drop-damaged on concrete, lost etc.

Springs really shouldn't be a problem for long term loaded use, although there's lots of opinions either way. If you're at all concerned about mag springs for long-term loaded mags, just buy some new springs from Wolff and replace them annually. Easy-peasy.

The thing you should be considering for long-term loaded mags is the feed lips. Pressure on the feed lips will often cause them to widen over time (we're talking many years here). Measure them when new and remeasure periodically. When you start seeing a significant change, swap the mag for a new from your spares. Keep the old one as a range mag (mark it as such to keep from mixing with your defensive mags).

Ultimately, mags are semi-disposable. For a defensive handgun you should be absolutely ruthless in rooting out any mag that isn't 100% in function.
"Are you bringing in any weapons?"
      "Of course not!"
      "You're not changing anything."
