    Sf bay area ffl transfers?

Can anyone recommend an ffl in the bay area to do an ffl transfer that's not gonna charge and arm & a leg? I normally go through city arms but they are not taking transfers at the moment.

    Thanks-Mike

Why not share the good deal?

They're forced to perform private party transfers. I don't know if they have to receive others.

They used to but according to the message on their voice mail they are no longer doing them just had one done there 6 mo ago too. Ended up using old west gun room in el cerrito price is reasonable and it's a convieniant location for me.

When I called them about 2 days ago, they said sometime around March is when they'll start again. They didn't explain why.

As an alternative, and if you don't mind the drive, Roger's Relics in Santa Clara is one of the favorites in the south bay. I believe $50 on handguns and $40 for long guns.

Don't know what "arm and a leg" is to you as I'm sure it's subjective depending on the person.

Wow you got Old West to do a transfer? I got my HSC there, and the owner is... how should I say, moody?

Last time I checked with bullseye they wanted a few hundred to do a transfer. I understand they need to make money too but I feel it's bit excessive.

Kevin Smith in Martinez does most of my transfers.

Very reasonable prices, not moody at all.

                      Kevin Smith

When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."

Yes, I've done business with Kevin Smith as well and He's done some gunsmithing work for me too....Ever had a problem with him!

Also Johnsons Custom Guns in American Canyon is cheap, if not one of the cheaper FFLs around in my area! Charges 25.00 state and 25.00 for transfer, so 50 total! Great price!

I went to Roger as well. Don't forget teh $25 for DROS. When you check prices, ask if it involves the DROS fee. For instance, doing a transfer with Roger cost $75 out the door for a pistol.

Some places give a small discount if you are FFLing multiple long arms (since you can only do one pistol per 30 days)

+1 for Peter at Mparms. HIs prices are great and he is usually available at night also.
