    Nice!

Century had 455 ammo on sale a few months ago. I wanted to order a box just for kicks but didn't have anything else to order at the time.

      Very cool!

I've always wanted a Webley but expensive, uncommon calibers have always kept me away since I can't reload.

Make sure it hasn't been cut for .45 ACP in moon clips (or .45 Auto Rim). The cylinder should measure 1.500 inches from front face to rear face. And the Serial Number on the cylinder should not have the bottoms of the numbers missing.

This was done to a lot of .455 Webley's when they were cheap about 50 years ago.

I believe you have a MK VI Webley made circa WWI.

oooh. well it cam with half moon clips. I've been told in the past that it can fire 45acp with moon clips. I'm going to have to buy another reloader now if it doesnt (dillion square deal doesnt take a lot of calibers)

That sort of ruins the value of the Webley. .455 ammo is still available from one manufacturer. The rim of a .455 case is very thin compared to modern revolver cases. I think they turn the back of the cylinder and star about 0.60" to modify it for .45 ACP. That leaves the star rather thin.

The .45 ACP is about 0.003" smaller in diameter than a .455 round -- so accuracy won't be the greatest...

I have one from my late grandfather. He would use .45 long after squishing them in a vice so that the cylinder would rotate. Not very accurate and its a ear ringer. I was offered a $1000 for it a few years back but its a family heirloom. Neat little piece of history.

From your picture the cylinder doesn't looked shaved for .45 auto. If it is, get some .45AR cases and a shell holder for the AR brass and use your .45 auto dies to load them. Much easier than the half moon clips in my opinion plus the MkVI isn't really up to full load .45 auto rounds anyway. Give us the details on yours when you pick it up. Date, any unit or owner markings etc. How much did you pay if I may ask?

I picked this one up at Oak Tree several months ago still in .455. Fun to shoot but my reloads aren't particulary accurate in it. I'm using a hollow base .455 bullet that is made for the gun.

Yeah, I don't really sell guns so value isn't a huge deal. I was looking for one a few weeks back and only saw some on gunbroker for way too much
