Do you live anywhere near the ocean?
I live exactly 1 mile from the beach, I find I have to run an oily patch through the barrels of my handguns and rifles, if I haven't fired them for a month or so, to keep the rust away.
Life can make you do many things, even kiss a man with a runny nose.

Correction... stainless steel kept dry or oiled will very rarely rust. Even stainless isn't completely impervious. If you keep stainless submerged in water long enough, it'll manage to find its way through the chromium layer that forms on the surface.
I found the following article on stainless steel to be fascinating, from a metallurgical perspective, and encourage anyone who wishes to better understand the protection of their firearms, to read it:
In short, I would recommend giving your mags a light coat of CLP for storage. It's how I store my extra AK mags nowadays.Primary author of gunwiki.net - 'like' it on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Gunwiki/242578512591 to see whenever new content gets added!Comment
