    1911 Square trigger guard

    Do any of you know a competent gunsmith/company that will square the trigger guard on a 1911 and refinish?

    I hear that kings gun works is a joke now. {They squared the guard on 1911s}

    I have been on the search for a few days now.

    I know some of you will think {yuck} but I find the square trigger guard on a 1911 quite attractive and appealing.

      Don Golembieski @ Kodiak Precision
      CNC Machining, Conventional Machining, ISO9001:2000 Machining

      Rob Leatham has recommended Don for squarring a 1911 trigger guard for years (among other things). Easy job to screw up so get it done right the first time.

      Hope this helps,

      Brian

        "Al" Capone was the master gunsmith behind King's.
        Al retired and sold the business a few years ago.

        The store is now called Gun Kings and they are more of a normal gun shop than a specialty builder.
        Nice folks at Gun Kings, some are members here at CalGuns.

              I always thought square guards looked nice. I might have to look into this as well.

                I would prefer an old-style Beretta 92 or CZ SP-01-style trigger guard, but that would ruin you for holsters even more than a squared one. And make people look at you all funny.

                  he does amazing work, very meticulous and has done many a squared trigger guard conversion.
