P226 .40 question

I have a P226 in .40 caliber. Anyways, it has 2k rounds through it, how many round fired are you suppose to replace the main spring? I'm wondering if I can do anything to "tune" it up a little and I can't seem to determine if it even needs a "tuning" lol. Does slide to frame play affect accuracy?

Sig experts please give me your 2 cents, can the P226 in .40 be used for thousands of rounds without changing anything and still be reliable?

Don't fix nothing that ain't broke. If you start "tuning," then problems might start happening. You won't need to chain the mainspring on a pistol for thousands upon thousands of rounds, until you start getting light primer strikes. What I would do is change the recoil spring (and change it every 3000 rounds) and give it a good cleaning and then go shooting.

thanks, i'm looking forward to shoot the piece very much. I tried to register on Sig Forums but it won't take any of my email accounts (stupid).
