QQ: Recently purchased a Glock21 factory build, and it impacts the target quite a bit high and left. This being my first Glock, I don't fully know everything about the weapon, so I'm wondering if they're notorious for impacting this way. Thoughts???

Thanks for the feedback.
G60: I hadn't really thought about letting someone else shooting it; I guess my ego is getting in the way, seeing as how I consider myself the best shooter I know... Hahaha. Good suggestion, though.
L4D: Hadn't really thought about using a pistol rest, either. Do most ranges carry them??? The one I regularly shoot at doesn't list it as being carried on their website... Guess I'll just have to give 'em call tomorrow. 'Preciate the help.Comment

When at the range. Point in with no magazine or round in the pistol and slowly press the trigger while watching the front sight. There should be no movement when that striker falls (goes click). Do this until there is no front sight movement, then load up a couple and shoot those into your target. Keep doing that until you are dialed in. If you are still having trouble, have another shooter try it and make adjustments as required."Bruen, the Bruen opinion, I believe, discarded the intermediate scrutiny test that I also thought was not very useful; and has, instead, replaced it with a text history and tradition test." Being your first Glock, I suggest you practice dry firing. They can be stubborn little guns.
Have someone else shoot it as well. Or put it in a ransom rest and shoot it from there.
The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

1. Check your grip. Make sure you have the web of your shooting hand as high up the grip as possible. Wrap your support hand around your shooting hand and point both thumbs forward alongside the gun slide.
2. Squeeze the trigger using the pad of your bang finger.
Better yet, go check this out:

You're probably just anticipating the recoil and "pushing" the handgun.
This is something I do to a very small degree with all firearms. It is a bad habit of mine. Now that I have been training for a while it is barely noticeable by most people's standard. I get a nice hand size group in the 10 and 9 ring when working at speed, but the group itself is centered a just a little bit high and to the left. The longer I go between the training sessions the more noticeable it is. Ironically the momentary pause I take before a headshot allows me to be dead on. But when I move back down to the body, it starts up again...so it is totally a mental thing.
When I slow things all the way down, I am dead on. It is when I am working at speed and firing controlled pairs, non-standard responses, and hammers that this problem shows up. The further out I am the more the group opens up as well. As it does with most people. At 25 yards, on hour two of working at full speed my handsize grouping opens up to two handsizes but usually stays there unless I am taking a tactical course and running wind sprints and then all bets are off.
Basically I have a bad mental habit that is messing with my trigger control when I am aiming at the body. Dry fire practice and trigger control drills help reduce the effect and smooth things out with my grouping. So I spend half my day just working on those before I speed things up. Again, most people would be more than happy with were I am at right now, especially if like me they were not an infantryman, police officer or competitive shooter. I can be pretty hard on myself with regards to always wanting to show improvement. Sometimes you're going to backslide a little, especially if you go more than 2-3 weeks without a trip to the range. Shooting skills are perishable...big time.
Looking at the target below, about half my shots would be in the middle where you want them, then the other half would mostly be in pushing with some in the breaking wrist and some in the too little finger.
