    Glow Ammo (Tracer?)

Has anyone tried this in their reloads? Does it really work? Is it legal in California?

You might want to check out the Burro Night Shoot thread, I remember one of the members was saying he was taken some of his rounds loaded with this to the shoot.

This is not tracer ammo. Non-toxic and non -pyrotechnic. Alot like Fiocchis Canned Heat shotgun shells that have the glow in the wad.

          from 12301:

          (a) The term "destructive device," as used in this chapter,
shall include any of the following weapons:
          (1) Any projectile containing any explosive or incendiary material
or any other chemical substance, including, but not limited to, that
which is commonly known as tracer or incendiary ammunition, except
tracer ammunition manufactured for use in shotguns.

It appears that it is okay in shotgun rounds. Not sure why to be honest.

I looked at the website and it says non pyrotechnic, but as 12301 states "any other chemical substance" so I have to think it would probably fall under that. Something is causing it to glow and my guess is that it's a chemical substance.

unfortunately, I think you're right. This falls within the area of things that weren't intended to be covered by the bill, but will be anyway. Kinda sad, because this is pretty damn cool.

I agree. I actually think it would be useful for training. I use the shoot n c targets with my wife because it gives you more feedback but the target still gets busy after awhile.

Isn't that kinda sad when a product stays within the spirit of the law but not the letter? Especially when just about any other time we try to get fun stuff we have to appeal to the letter of the law and not the spirit?

On the bright side, the arrogance and cupidity of California government has taught gun owners how to survive bad legislation.
