    cleaning question

I am anxiously waiting to pick up my new stainless p95.

    I have breakfree clp.

Should I also get a universal cleaning kit??

I'm kind of nervous just thinking of cleaning it..I hope I don't mess it up.

am I good with just the breakfree and some rags *cotton shirts*??

Buy a universal pistol kit and with the CLP you will have what you need. CLP is all I use on my handguns.

And some patches too. Work better than a shirt and won't leave lint

About all I use with my p95 is a good bronze bore brush on a cleaning rod. Add some patches/break-free, with toothbrush and a dental pick to get hard to reach places and your good to go.

This is pretty much what you get in a kit; obviously get caliber-specific kit, I like the OTIS one and patches and enjoy.

OTIS make great kits. They may cost a bit more, but are well worth every penny.

I know Cabela's has this handle that stores all the jigs and the popular handgun caliber bore brushes. I think everybody has one but it is handy. Keeps all my handgun cleaning supplies together. Just add patches and your good to go.

Don't sweat it, if you can brush your teeth you shouldn't have any problem cleaning a gun.

I'd suggest not using Breakfree CLP and using a separate cleaner and lubricant like the Shooter's Choice lineup. CLP is just okay at cleaning, lubricating, and protecting and does not excel at any of them.

+1 on the Bore Snake. Makes cleaning really easy.

I've heard of a story, really a urban legend that a guy can clean a glock so fine that he doesn't need to use any oil.

                        Is this true??

Do not try this, metal to metal always needs lubrication especially when two different metals are put together.

Unless its been bonded or coated but even then I think i would still put some oil on it.
