    Normal for a glock???

I have a g17 and I think something might be wrong with my slide.....when you rack your slide, does the barrel sorta go down and once you start to rack it do you feel like there's a little hitch. I was at the range today testing my new 3.5lb connector went to pull the slide back a lil to check I chambered a round and i couldn't do it unless i put my left hand near the front of the slide. It's not as smooth as other guns I've owned. Is this typical for glocks or could there be something wrong or preventing the slide to be racked. It fired great and I had good groupings. Just dont get why its doing this.

Any help would be great. Thanks guys

You should not have to grasp near the front of the slide though........

Sounds normal to me. The "hitch" is the barrel (un)locking as the slide moves. And yeah, not sure why you'd have to grab near the front of the slide as opposed to just going over the top of the rear? If the pistol is new, it might take a few cycles to loosen things up, but it's nothing crazy, imho. You should be able to grab the pistol with just your left or right hand and grab/open the slide with just thumb pressure... see the manual for the field strip technique they describe.

I'm sure you can see lots of video on YouTube discussing other "techniques" to rack the Glock slide...

That's a user issue and should not be done unless you're experienced in doing so the correct way which is with your hand under the slide pinching it and pulling back. Guns like Les Baer's old TRS has the front cocking serrations made to do this without slipping.

Dude, I was totally emotionally scarred after my AR developed said brass marks on the brass deflector after the first range trip.

                Have some sympathy!

Don't listen to this guy, he is a known scam artist.

I, however, am qualified in dispose of Glocks with slight hang-ups when going out of battery.

note: AFAIK the person above is not actually a known scam artist.

                          Back on topic.

The connector might not be adjusted to the correct angle. For the instructions on that connector, did you notice whether or not the manufacturer indicated that it might need some tuning or not?

Does the gun otherwise shoot properly? Good extraction and ejection?
