I'm looking at these 2 Glocks as my 9mm. I shot the 19 already, but not the 17. I'm looking for people who have owned both or experienced shooting both. I want to hear your reviews on the 2.

Glock 17 or Glock 19?

I own 2 G17 and 2 G19. The compact size Glock (19, 23, etc..) is perfect for CCW and HD. The G17 is more comfortable in my hands and I shoot more accurate with it.
G19 = CCW and HD
G17 = HD, range gun, competition gun

i like both.
maybe consider what distance you would be shooting at, and considering 'in general' a longer slide would mean longer sight would mean better accuracy at longer range, that might suggest the 17, whereas always short distance might suggest the 19.
see if you can rent or borrow the other one, and then decide, i know one range that rents almost anything (wheres bay area ((i can think of a few bay areas)), not sure suggesting anything around here would do you any good)

Depends on what you're going to use it for, and RollingCode3 summed it up nicely. If it's going to be a range only gun, another option is the G34; longer sight radius and you get the 4.5lb connector.
I have both the G17 and G19, but if I had to keep one, it'd be the G19 because I feel that it's more versatile.Comment

im right there with ya. Im fairly set on the g17 though. g19=OAL 6.85" with a 4.02" barrel. g17=OAL 7.32" with a 4.49" barrel.......almost seems a wash dont it? plus you get to use those 17rds mags you have sitting around that you bought before the ban instead of the 15rnd mags for the g19
i think i can handle the extra half inch for +2 rounds.

im going with the 9mm mostly for the practice. i have a 1911 also which the .45 is my hd gun. with ammo prices the way they are im thinking 9mm for practice and .45 for hd why spend the money on a .40? at least thats why im staying away from the g22/23si vis pacem para bellvmComment

The G19 is a nice carry gun, although the G23 gets you alot more juice for the same size. The G17 is way better for gun games.
