    G21SF or USP45

Besides the obvious discrepancy in price, how do these two guns compare? I'm looking to get something in .45ACP and I pretty much have it down to these two. They seem similar in size and weight, and while the trigger systems are different, I would expect both to be competent, accurate, and reliable shooters. Also, does anyone know if any of the ranges in the Sacramento area rent either of these two pistols?

I think you've already answered your own question. These two guns have nothing in common other than that they have polymer frames. The HK is a SA/DA while the G21SF is strikerfire. G21 has lower bore aaxis which inherently helps with recoil vs the opposing high bore axis on the HK. The USP is also bigger. I use to own both guns. Price is is also a big difference. With all that said, I highly suggest you try and rent both guns and shoot them and buy whichever you shoot, like or feels best. That's really the only way to get a true answer. All you'll read here are opinions and usually it's opinions based one whichever they own. But since your asking, I think the USP was more accurate, both very reliable though I'll give that edge to the USP. The recoil almost similar despite the bore axis difference. I would personally choose a USP45 but the price difference just doesn't justify it.

I went with the G21 SF with picatinny rail. Love it and don't regret it.

If I wanted a very nice range gun, I'd pick the H&K.

If I was going to have to let it be abused, I'd take the Glock.

I'd think that the H&K is more accurate. If i wanted solid reliable accurate and good looking gun i will take my sig p220 combat!

I tried both before I bought the HK USP45. For me though I fell that the grip was made JUST FOR ME!!! It feels perfect, and nothing has ever felt better. I didn't even get close to that from the glock. ( Not bashing glock). I got a used HK and have never looked back. Like you said try both and look at your finances. HK is more expensive all around, price of the gun and extra magazines.

if you are getting a .45 cal handgun that is made of melted barbie parts i would recommend the H&K USP. very reliable and has good ergonomics. but if you are planning to get a 9mm or .40cal to shoot matches like IDPA OR USPSA i suggest you get a glock.

I've heard a lot of people are thrown by the recoil of the HK because the rifling is going the opposite direction.

                    I sold my G21 and my G30....
I have a full size USP 45 that I carry in Ted Blocker holster off duty.
It is as accurate or more accurate than most stock 1911's and works everytime.

I've owned both brands and prefer the HK for several reasons. I've had many different GLOCKS jam on me using various loads. Never with a USP. I prefer the triggers on HK's, especially the light LEM. The USP feels smoother to me, regardless of bore axis. The grip feels better to me as well, but if I skip on a hogue grip, they feel about even. I like how the G21 has the ability to use barrel/caliber conversions though.

                      WTB used AK MFER.

Can't you just shoot with your left hand?

Haha, maybe eventually, but one at a time. I already have 2 Sigs, and as good of a gun as the 220 is, I'd like something a little different. I think I'm pretty set on the HK given further consideration, unless I decide to go crazy and get a 1911 instead.
