It's not 9mm or .45ACP, but from what I see on shelves it's pretty popular.

I went with .40 during the Obama Gun Craze because it was on the shelves more often than either of the aforementioned calibers.

from what i've seen, in terms of availability, it's just about equal to 9mm. .45 is sometimes a little hard to find in stock.

thats my main caliber. it is cheaper than the .45 to shoot, and with a ton more power than the 9mm.

The other advantage I find in .40 is that a lot more pistols are made in .40 than in .45 (or at least a lot more are available here in CA). Going with .40 just makes more guns available in the same caliber.

I can see why. The 40 is the MOST popular round with LE.
I see it ALL OVER the place. JHP's too. At good prices.

I have owned a .40 cal pistol for five years and when I go to the range I always bring back more brass than I use. That should tell you somthing!
