    wilson combat mag

wussup guys i had down some cash on a kimber raptor stainless and i decided to buy some wilson combat mags (after hearing all the good stuff about them and they were on sale). so i ordered four 8 rd 47D mags and just got them in today so started loading some rounds in to test it out. now i'v never owend a 1911 so im not sure this is normal or not but when i load about 6 rds into the mag the first rd (the one all the way at the bottom) it is sitting at a different angle then the rest and leaves a gap between the 1st rd and 2nd rd. and when i load 8 rds in there is a gap between rd 8 and 7. is this normal?

    1st and 2nd rd

Just take it to the range, load it up and shoot it. It will settle.

How does it shoot? If they aren't reliable, call Wilson up and they will take care of you.

See how they feed your gun If there's any trouble with the magazines, Wilson will make good

that's how bullets are oriented...nature of single stack magazines.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

The 47D was designed as a 7 round magazine and converted to 8 rounds with a smaller follower. They usually work fine for a while with 8 rounds then start having issues. I have a lot of 47D's which are great magazines, however all use Tripp springs and followers and are 7 rounds only. If you really want 8 round magazines buy Tripp's 8 round cobra magazines or Wilsons (can't remember what they are called) 8 round magazines. Not 47D's.

I don't recall ever seeing a gap like that. You all sure that's normal?

Check out the Wilson "Elite Tactical Magazines." They are the new ones designed to be 8 rounders. The new baseplates are really comfortable to use.

I just checked mine. I never noticed it before, but there is small difference I can see. Not as pronounced as yours, but there none the less.

I have no problems with mine. I say, go shooting and try it.

Similar issue - I bought 3 WC mags used from another CG'er.

2 work great - One will only cycle when loaded with 5 rounds or less.

Load 6 or more and it fails to load/feed properly until it gets to the 5th remaining round - Then it works fine...

Doesn't matter if I use the slide release or manually rack the slide - The first few rounds won't load.

                            Please advise...
