    1911 .45 magazine wont work

so i just bought a magazine from a member on cg and it doesnt seem to work for my 1911s. was wondering if anyone can help me out. it was suppose to be a 7 round magazine but is a 6 rounder. it is unmarked only stamped made in italy. when i try and insert the magazine into my 1911 it will not go in it gets stuck about half way. i have to hold the magazine release button before it will slide all the way in. but it can easily be pulled out without pushing the magazine release button. i have 3 1911s by the way a springfield a1, double eagle, and a combat elite all have same issue

Forget about it not fitting. If it was advertised as a 7 rounder and it turned out to be only 6, then return it for a refund. That is false advertisement.

If you paid less than 10 bucks for it, toss it and get another one. New 1911 mags can be had for under 20 bucks. Not all mags are compatible with all 1911's either.

you have 3 other mags, have you laid them all side by side, to see if there are any noticable difference, like where the mag catch notch is, the length, etc. almost sounds like you didn't get a 1911 mag at all
That may be a CG first!

Get a wilson combat ETM or a act-mag you wont look back.

                  mecgar is pretty solid too.

wilson combat is a little pricey though

Magazines are usually the first point of failure. Better not skimp on those.

                      Here's another option.

These have worked just fine for me.

                      Good price.

ETA: Chip McCormick Power Mags are another good choice.
