LOVED my H&K P9S .45 so much back in 1990 that I bought a second of the same model.
When the USP came out I sold the P9s's and bought two USPs -- and then found they did not fit my hand as well. Idiot.

I have done this with rifles (Two LMT MRPS) and Shotguns (two Benelli Montefeltros)
Of course I always end up selling both of them.

I loved my Sig P220R SAO so much, I bought a second one. I loved my Springfield Loaded 9mm so much, I bought a RIA Tactical .

I have 2 or 3 pieces of the same models of my favorite handguns. Not because I want to use one now and another 10 years from now. I use them all. They should last if I take good care of them.

But, how will you go all hollywood on the range, firing guns akimbo? I suppose you could mix and match, but any mall ninja can tell you that paired weapons are best when dual-wielding. Just look at Counterstrike! Dual Elites!

Duplicating calibers can actually be a good idea, as then you don't have to worry about your rounds getting mixed up, or grabbing the wrong magazine... plus you can just buy one caliber of ammo in bulk. I wouldn't turn my nose up too much at shared calibers...
