    xd9 question

I want to keep the gun loaded, but not with a round in the chamber. When I put the magazine in with the slide already forward, it feels a little tight to push the magazine in, and the magazine release is harder to push. Is it bad to leave the gun with a full magazine in with the slide forward?

    Thanks for reading

My XD45 does that too. Never had a problem with doing it.

Pretty much all handguns will do that. When you place the magazine in the gun with the slide down the top round gets pushed down slightly. If the magazine is full there is very little room for the follower to move, so it will give more resistance than if the slide was open or the mag was underloaded a round or two.
