I have a newer Beretta 92FS INOX usa mfg. Black plastic parts...switched out guide rod for steel.

Here's the deal. I love the look of the gun but hate shooting it. It is a safe queen with 50 rounds or less through it.

Should I have it gold plated?

I can get $700-750 for it the way it is...trade it for a Gen3 Glock 17 w/NS+$100-150 cash or just keep it as part of my collection and have it gold plated for a more expensive sale later on.

Should I:

Sell/trade it. Get something you would enjoy shooting and having in your collection.

If you don't like shooting it and it just sits in the safe then sell it or trade for something you actually like. Gold plating it would personally ensure that I would never buy it.

Sell it. Berettas imo aren't worth the money they cost. In my experiences they're more in the line of expensive paper weight.

I have had my 92 for 20 years and love it. While not the most accurate gun I own it is one of my favorites. I t never fails to operate except on the rare occasion that I get some questionable reloads but it is 100% with factory ammo. I had a trigger job done which made the gun extremely nice to shoot and now have the Beretta target rear site on the way. I put the factory rubber grips on and the thing is just great.

These are production combat pistols not collectors items.

Ever since I became interested in guns I loved the Beretta 92. I finally found one, like yours an INOX, bought it and was so excited. Took it out and hated the way it shot, I had already owned XDs/Glocks by then. I listed it on Calguns and even went through the trouble to drive 2 hours to meet the guy for a PPT.

So my moral of the story is, there is no point in owning a gun you don't like.

There is no point to pouring money into something you aren't that interested in. If you not strapped for cash I would just leave it in the safe. I'm not partial to getting rid of functioning firearms myself. They tend to appreciate in value.

If you need the money or just don't want it. Trade or sell it to fund your next purchase. Unless you can find exactly what you want. I would just sell it and save for what you really want.
