    H&K USP .45 - Full vs Compact

Interested in hearing from folks that have experience with the H&K USP .45 full size and compact with regard to differences in felt recoil (as I understand the recoil reduction system is different between the two models). Also interested in any feedback regarding handling characteristics and preferences between these.

Am considering purchase of the full size as I have enjoyed shooting it, but haven't had a chance to shoot the compact as I can't find a range with that as a rental option.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

i love the full size 45HK, i've only fired a compact .40, which i like. what i don't like about the compact, though, is that a good part of your grip is the mag itself. if you don't really need a compact, don't get it. if you need a smaller pistol, the .45 compact should be every bit as useful, albeit a bit more awkward to grip. if i hadn't got the .45 i got, i would definitely be hunting down a fullsize USP45. great pistol, natural controls, you can't lose.

Since the USP Compact isn't really compact, I went with the fullsize. I just couldn't see the reason for going with a USP Compact. Other guns, yes. USP, no.

I just shot my new to me used compact last night. I was impressed with it's accuracy, but agree that if the mag did not have the pinky extension it is harder to shoot. I looked at both full-sized and compact and this came up first so I went for it. I have shot the full-sized and think you cannot go wrong either way.
