    Does this 1911 exist?

I'm looking for a premium 1911 with a non ambi safety and half or full rail. Nicer sights would be a plus, as would a beavrtail safety.

Any custom shop really could do this kimber warrior and springfield operator are on one tier. Then you pretty much go up nighthawk custom and the like. I think any question with 1911 and exist is irrelevant. You can find any 1911 to meet your desires especially if money is not a question.

Premium for me would be a nighthawk, wilson combat, les baer, ed brown. Les baer can guarantee 1.5 inch group at 50 yards which is way more accurate than I will ever be.

Price-wise I'd top out at $1,600. So not super premium, but definitely nicer than a Kimber. >.>

Here's your gun bud. Permium, non-ambi safety, rail, premium sights, beavertail. Plus, it's on the roster. Nighthawk Custom GRP Recon.

Yeah, I was thinking Nighthawk and typing Wilson, brain fart. Also, didn't see the OP's cost requirments before I posted. This would likely not be a $1600 gun, maybe sometimes if you're luck but don't count on it. I still say go for it. Keed saving.

Hahaha, I saw it online for $2,300. Don't think I'll be buying one.

I was thinking more along the lines of a Les Baer or Wilson than a Nighthawk. :P

                    Here's your gun:
Springfield Armory Operator (actually this is the LW Operator, but same concept)

The non-LW version can be had for under $1200 plus fees.

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

I could have sworn the Operator had an ambi-safety.

Edit: pictures on their website show it with an ambi safety...

You can switch the safety out relatively easily.

+1, don't let that stop you, can pretty much buy and have one fitted for $100.00, and ambi's arent that bad in the mean time if you don't like them.

I just had a strong side Ed Brown safety fit and blended to my Colt Railgun to replace the crappy stock ambi's, and it was less than $80. So as others have said, don't worry about the ambi's.
