Best Ankle Guns?

Just wondering what everyone has to say about the following DAO and DA/SA guns and there ability for ankle carry.

Also anyone know of a dealer in SoCal that has an HK p2000sk in stock?

S&W 340PD would get my vote.

It's expensive (but so is your life) and super light (which sucks right when you pull the trigger) but if you need to depend on it, go for it!

I've never figured out how to cary in an ankle holster. it always seems to stand out like a neon sign that says I HAVE A GUN.

PM kahr and an Airweight 38 are far better choices than anything on your list. Ankle carry seems like a no brainer, but in practice guns like the 26/27 get really heavy really quickly. Also, unless you're into (or back into lol) bellbottoms, those fatter guns, plus holster, take up enough pant leg room that they get tough to draw.

Kahr PM 9 or PM 40 if you just have to have a semi.
I like the airweights or Ruger P101 for a revolver ankle gun.

forgot about the airweights, I was thinking about a semi auto only for some reason. I would think and sp101 would be to big for ankle carry

I've got a P239 and ankle holster. Definitely too bulky for most pants unless they're baggy. It's an IWB gun.

I'd also have to go with the Kahr and S+W airweight recommendations. One day I'll get me one of dem...

good to know, i have a 239 and was thinking about getting an ankle holster for it....sounds like it would have been a waste of money.

Its a reasonably realistic test to put on a heavy sock, then a light sock over it, put the gun in there and give it a wrap or 2 of athletic tape. Wear it around the house for an hour and it'll give you a good idea about what you're in for. It'll wear against your leg more than a real holster, but you'll get an idea of how the weight and size will feel.
