    Question: USP .45 Magazines

Do they only make the extended floorplate USP .45 10rd magazines now? I kinda want some flat ones... CDNN only has the extended floorplate ones :-/.

You might find some used flat floorplate mags on the gun auction sites. If you wanted to, you could contact HK customer service and buy just the floorplates. I think they're $6 each though.

Are you sure? I hate the flat base plate mags. The spring in the flat base mags is almost twice as stiff as the "pro" mags. Loading is a b*tch with standard mags.

really? the flat factory HK mags are stiffer then the extended ones? I didn't realize they used different springs.

Flat vs extended baseplate. It doesn't matter, it uses the same spring. I have a small stash of flat baseplates for my USP .45 just in case the ones I have now break.

I waited patiently on HKPro for someone to sell theirs. They pop up on ARFcom from time to time also.

Every flat base plate mag I have loaded kills my thumb after 3 reloads. I don't know what the design difference is but the extended baseplate mags are much easier to load. Buy both so you can appreciate it!

Are they HK mags or Promag brand mags.

It must be just from use, are your extended mags older. Also you prefer them so you use them more often, thus wearing out the springs.

I have several of both and there is no difference between the two.
