Where did you purchase those grips from ?Originally posted by Lead WasterLook, that bum on the corner needs to get his booze money somehow. If the gov't doesn't give him his "pay" that he "earned" by being born in America, then what kind of society do we live in?Comment

I read that replacing your factory plastic guide rod with a steel one would void the warranty on the compact pistols because it is made of a harder material than the frame is or something of the sort. I also read that you have to sand the guide rod because it was a tight fit in some of the pistols and would rub against the hole in the slide.Thanks....
make sure to replace those awful plastic factory grips and plastic factory guide rod with SS.

I thought about changing my guide rod to the stainless steel one, but I haven't had any problems with the factory plastic one. It does its job, and it hasn't shown any signs of wear at all... Then again its only job is to keep the spring straight...
Also, by factory plastic grips, do you mean the rubber ones?... Because I feel that those are excellent grips.. Comfortable, and my hand doesn't slide all around the place when I'm shooting.Comment

My CZ-75 SA came with hard plastic grips, not rubber ones.==================

Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

original 75 compact has a steel frame...i wouldn't put it in an alloy frame compact.
The SS guide rod is a drop in fit from guiderod.com.....no modification is required.
The factory plastic guide rod is a joke.Comment

Did your factory plastic guide rod break? If so that would be the first I've heard of that happening.Comment

Actually I have owned 3 different cz pistols with plastic guide rods. After 1000s of rounds I have had zero issues with the rods. I saw no need to replace them. As for your gun I got new compact last month. Mine was manufactured in 2008 and has the old style trigger. I did a little polishing on the hammer and sear and changed out the mainspring. The trigger is decent now. I'm also waiting on a new fiber optic front sight for the compact from dawson precision. They are making it stock height but it is going to be a little narrower so it is easier to see in the rear sight notch. I'll post a pic when I get it in the gun. MarkComment
