M&P 45

I am picking one up in a few days and am just looking for all you calgunner experiences.
How do you like the way the gun handles, Recoil Impulse compared to Glock and 1911? Accuracy, etc.

I am going to be ordering the hard sear and striker block from apex and fitting it so the trigger is going to be "fixed"

Just looking for any info available.

I absolutely hated it until I got the APEX kit installed.

Straight out of the box I was shooting low and to the left.

After the kit, I consistently hit center target from 15 yards.

That is just trigger pull.

They're great! I still like shooting my 1911 better, but its very accurate and comfortable to shoot, Recoil is still pretty light considering its a polymer. With Apex parts installed, its a really fun, comfortable gun - great ergonomics!

I love mine. Recoil isn't any different than my 1911's. I read a lot of people complaining about the trigger pull on their M&P, I haven't had any problems, for me it is a smooth consistent pull, I have no problem feeling it reset. I really only wish they made a compact M&P45.

M&P 45 compact. About the same size as a Glock 19, little thicker. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to take it out yet. The trigger is a little gritty, but hopefully a couple hundred rounds will help smooth it out. If not, I'll be giving the good folks at Apex Tactical a call.

They make a mid-size and a compact.

Apex's DCAEK does more than take the grit out... It also gives it a clean break and a shorter reset as well.

Does it also give a more prominent reset? Without the kit I can barely feel the reset on my M&P45. I guess the APEX RAM would help in the this department but it doesn't seem like there's a 45 version yet.

wow, you must be the lucky one to have M&P with good trigger reset feature. luckily, my M&P is going to have excellent trigger reset when my APEX RAM gets to my house very soon. Cant wait, I have M&P 9mm, not 45acp because I just cant afford to shoot 45acp. Thats why I always tag along when my friends shoots their 1911 .45 lol.

Duh, I left out a better reset The RAM is not out for the .45 yet but if you slightly bend the trigger bar away from the frame (Repeat, SLIGHTLY) it will also assist with the reset. My FS9 and 9c have the full kit plus RAM installed and tuned by Apex, it's truly no comparison.

I am really happy with mine. The ergo's make it more comfortable to shoot than my DW 1911.

A fine pistol to start with... Apex will definately make it better

That's was mine was doing, exactly, until Kevin at Arms To Bare clued me in about finger pull and finger position and also grip. Right off it shot dead on. Knowing how to read the front sight was also a heads up. It changed my grouping literality right off after the education and added it to my CCW.

I'm an experienced shooter and still had problems with my M&P's due to the overtravel making my sight go right and up, I don't have that problem anymore
