I have a registered aw and want to sell...how?

I have a Intratec AB10 that I registered as an assult weapon back in 2000. I want to list it here on calguns for sale and wanna know is there anything special i have to do to sell it since i registered it as an AW? I know I have to cut the mag release so that a tool is nessesary for mag removal. I have to take apart the hi-caps. i did some searching but couldn't quite find the answer.

I'm pretty sure you gotta sell it out of state - Once an AW / Always an AW - But will wait for more AW experienced eyes to find this. Interesting to see if it can be made "legal" to sell in CA....

Once you sell it you'll never get another. At least not in Cali. Sell your blood, sperm, and everything in your house first, then sell it on gun broker...probably must go out of state though.

and if its not on the original list they provided, he may unregister it, and take away evilness

but, if it is on the list, you have to take it to a dealer with an AWP. he may sell it for you, or u go out of state to sell it
If is true, can people with AR-15 RAW sell the lowers?

RAWs or the lowers cannot be sold in CA if it is listed by make and model.

I'm going to have to side with him on this. Once you get rid of your RAW, you can't get it back, not in this state.

IIRC only the Tec-9 was banned by name...so you should be able to neuter it.

                  Sell something else if possible.

RAWs in CA are hard to come by

Per your "Assault Weapon Registration Confirmation Notice" you received when you registered your AW, your options are very limited.

Your "disposal / relinquishment" is specifically restricted by the Roberti-Roos AW Control Act, commencing with Penal Code section 12275.

Also you must submit written notification to DOJ when you "dispose / relinquish" the AW.

You can bet your connoli's, DOJ is going to want all the details regarding the transfer of your RAW especially who is the new owner.

                    Good Luck!

                          This from the DOJ website:

13.If I registered my SB 23 assault weapon and now I remove the characteristic(s) that make it an assault weapon, can I cancel the registration?
Yes. If the defining characteristics establishing a firearm as an SB 23 assault weapon are removed, it is no longer an assault weapon and the registration may be canceled. However, once the registration is canceled, you can never replace the characteristic(s) that make it an assault weapon, or you will be in possession of an illegal weapon.

THIS APPLIES ONLY TO FIREARMS DEFINED AS ASSAULT WEAPONS BY CHARACTERISTICS (Penal Code section 12276.1, SB 23). THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO ORIGINAL ROBERTI-ROOS ASSAULT WEAPONS OR AK and AR-15 SERIES WEAPONS IN THAT REMOVAL OF THEIR CHARACTERISTICS DOES NOT NEGATE THE REQUIREMENT TO REGISTER THE ASSAULT WEAPON.
His gun is not listed by name...so he can neuter it and do as he wishes with it.

If you don't use it and it just collects dust, why not let someone who will use and enjoy it have it?
