I had both the P225/p6 and the P239.

    They are not really similar.

The P225 has a better balance and feel to it.

Also the P225 grip is longer so I can hold it without my Pinky sticking out.

The p239 made my pinky stick out. So If you want support for your pinky you might need to buy the 10 round mags.

The P239 was a little top heavy also.

I have both as well. I prefer the P6's ergonomics and balance, however even with the lighter 19# hammer spring (IIRC, been a while) along with a 225 sear, hammer, and decocker, I still find the P239's trigger much nicer than the P6's. YMMV

IMHO, The only other Sig that rivals the fit and balance of the P225 would be the railless P228.

I've wanted to know how big the difference is between a 225 compared to 250 also..

Me too. I could only guess that the 250 would feel more top heavy and blockier around the grip.

Hope some one can enlighten us on the subject.

The 250's looks don't bother me, I'm more curious about how it feels and shoots. I also, like shooting revolvers so the DAO is something that interests me.

OP- Just curious if you might be interested in the P228 (rules) or a P229 in 9mm? Might be something to look into and glad to hear you enjoyed shooting the Sig.

I agree with both of you. Yeah, the front strap on the 239 is definatlly its main weak point for me. The Hogue rubber grip makes it feel much better, but frakken cheapens the looks of the gun.

It has to do with how high the hand can get on the 225/P6. There is a difference in the trigger pull vectors...you're pulling more up than back.

The 225/P6 was designed as a holster gun for German LE, the 239 was designed to address the American market's desire for a Concealable pistol

Ah, thanks. Good to know. I can always count on you for the right pistol answers

i reload both my 45acp/9mm ammo for target practice with the same powder charge(4.9gr/W231).
P220 could actually be easier to shoot than the 9mm P6/225 in theory.
Currently my P6/225 gets a regular diet of approx .200rds of reloads per week.

I say just go with the P225/P6 since thats what you shot and liked. They can be had for pretty cheap if you find a used one in good condition.

i think, i dont think i can compare it to a real sig
I think it does look similar to a mosquito but more nice than one like they got it right the second time around.. its a different look from sig that I like.. price is right around a solid point for all the calibers they offer.. it makes anyone who wants to plink on a low budget take a look at them..
