    Kimber SOLO

I was at Cabela's earlier and they had a display model(wasn't for sale). It retailed $699, pretty decent price for a 1911-type 9mm sub-compact considering it has ambi safety and ambi mag release. When I handled it, it felt a little small for my fat hands but I heard they will release +2 mags with pinky extensions soon(comes with 1 factory 6 round mag). Maybe this will be replacing my G26

I'd rather have an EMP or Agent.

Based on the one Kimber I own, I would never replace a Glock with a Kimber, especially if it is a carry gun. When your life is on the line, reliability > all and Kimber is lacking in that category.
The capitalist economic model is fundamentally flawed. It is not self sustaining, and can only maintain itself with constant growth. Obviously infinite growth is impossible, so the question is not whether the economy will collapse, but when.

Get your guns, ammo, and food while the stores still stock them. Prepare yourself now, because when the meltdown comes it will be too late.

Ooh, that's a terrible rule 4 violation in the video. If there'd be a round in the chamber while he was taking it down, that fella would be out one hand and the internet would have quite a horrifying video.

Re: the gun itself, it looks a lot like it mimics the Kahr CW9 or P9, only with a higher price and slightly smaller magazine capacity. It does have a manual safety and a nicer-looking slider stop, though.

Based on the three Kimbers I own and the two Glocks, my Kimbers have been just as reliable. That is why my Glocks are in the safe and my CDP-PRO has been on my hip in an IWB holster all day. Reliability, accuracy and comfort> all.

Back to the topic at hand the solo. I only own a 9mm that small for pocket carry. Right now that duty belongs to a Kahr PM9 and it is just barely small enough for that duty. I would like to see the solo and PM9 back to back to see how they compared size wise. If the solo is no bigger then the PM9 I would think really hard about replacing the PM9 with the solo. Because although my Kahr has been reliable and a good shooter, I really cant stand the trigger on it. But I have a feeling the solo is a hair bigger then the PM9.

I had it side by side with an EMP that they had on display, trust me there was a big difference in size. When my G26 didn't have extensions, I can hold it with 3 fingers(index on the trigger, middle and ring fully rested on the grip). With the Solo, almost 3/4 of my ring finger is on the tip of the grip, the main reason why I would wait for the release of their +2 extended mags. The Solo would be an excellent backup CCW piece placed on a pocket or ankle holster, maybe even a bra holster for the ladies

According to the manufacturers' websites, the Solo is 1/10 shorter, but 2/10 longer, and 3/10 wider. Looks a lot more rounded though. Also 3 oz heavier.

I would like to think that my gun was just an anomaly, but 3 different parts on it were out of tolerance and causing interference problems. If it were just one I could forgive and forget. I think 3 messed up parts on one $1000 gun indicates a serious quality control issue. Not to mention standard machining practices like deburring parts seem to be ignored on my pistol.

Disregarding my personal situation, are you seriously arguing that Kimbers are just as reliable as Glocks?

I have a late 90's series 1 kimber classic. 25k+ rounds, only had to change a couple springs.

Not arguing anything. Just stating the fact that my three Kimbers run just as well as my two Glocks, but are more accurate and better shooters for me then my Glocks. Sorry you got a bad one. But I got three great ones. The CDP-PRO has been my main carry gun for 10 years, I have bought many handguns in those years including a couple Glocks and none have proven worthy to take its place.
