One of my biggest regrets in life was selling my Python. Congrats on an awesome pistol!

great gun i will never sell mine i love it too much
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

I got shot with my nickle plated 4" barrel Python and survived it. I will never part with it.
It's a long story which I will not share here.

Thats an awesome gun. That is the number one gun on my wantlist right now. As soon as I get some extra funds, I am buying it.

That is the about the same vintage as mine, mine might be a 1980 . I am the original owner, won't tell ya what I paid thirty years ago for the coolest revolver ever produced .

Back in the seventies it was David Soul who got me lusting after the Python .

Why did they stop making those, so awesome.

I've wanted one since the first time I picked one up and felt the buttery action and realized that I was holding the Rolls Royce of Pistols.

And btw, good for you. Enjoy!!

Congrats! The Python is sweet. I purchased mine back in 1980 at the S.F. Gun Exchange. It's been locked a way the past 8 years. Enjoy!

make sure the sight pin on your python matches the spear barrel. if one have 1 pin and another one have 2, than your 8 inch barrel is useless on your 6" frame. this is becuase they have different thread pitch for the two barrels. also, send it back to colt for the barrel swap. there are too many horror stories that average gun smith twist the frame while unscrewing the barrel.

do not attempt to DIY the barrel swap, most likely you dont have the correct barrel wrench or vice to hold that gun in place properly.

BTW how were you able to get it here? since the gun is off list and all.

I love all my snakes but my 2.5 inchers are my faves. They just seem to suck up all the recoil and man I cant miss with mine. Congats!
