FNP Tactical

Thanks to the guys at Valkyrie Arms I was able to get some range time today with my new FNP Tactical. The threaded barrel has been replaced with a standard FNP45 barrel and the mags are factory 10 rounders. Red dot sight is a Trijicon RMR 8 moa sight. I've got about 1,000 rounds through it so far and I'm impressed. It's a very soft shooting and accurate gun. Red dot is extremely fast to acquire and provides co-witness with the irons. Grip is surprisingly slim for a 15 round (in real states) capable gun. I've got the smaller backstrap installed currently. It even fits my existing FNP45 Bladetech holster. My only real complaint at this point is that the D/A trigger is very long and heavy. Gun does support cocked & locked though. Controls are completely ambidexterous.

Yesterday I got to hold one at the Cow Palace (Daly City) gun show. I love how easy the controls are to manipulate, and good ergonomics in general. If the standard FNP-45 was on the list, I'd have bought one already. It feels even better than a Sig in my opinion, for about $300 less. A stop at Valkyrie is on my to-do list for sure.

The FNP45 in any configuration is a very nice quality shooter. For those that like the FNP45 ergonomics, you should look at the FNX9 and FNX40.

I have to stay away from Valkyrie Arms. The last time I went in there to just browse I ended up making a few impulsive purchases. After seeing your pics I might do it again. Dammit.

Do you know if they dropped their price any? I called a week or so ago and I was quoted 599 for a FNP9

You'll need to contact Valkyrie for pricing since I bought it as part of a package with some other stuff. Not sure on pricing on just the pistol but you'll need to acquire the non-threaded barrel and 10 round magazines at an additional cost. I'm sure the guys at Valkyrie can help with all of that. In my case I already had the barrel and magazines. I believe MSRP on the Tactical is $1200.

Does it have a different grip angle than the 9 and 40? The 9 and 40 just don't sit nicely in my hand
